A Fresno first! We are honored to offer the WORLD PREMIERE of this touching and highly realistic portrayal of the difficulties in getting unstuck and un-straight. Jess married too soon and too young, and is just now coming to grips with her inner truth and outer sexuality. While her husband is adorable and loving, the pressure is on Jess to have a baby and have it now.
Meanwhile, Casey can’t seem to find the right Miss Right, one suitable to her needs and her age. As she runs from trick to trick, she’s caught offguard by the supposedly straight Jess. Surrounded always by her gay and lesbian friends, Casey is sidetracked by love and confusion as Jess struggles with both her marriage and her reputation. Torn between her desire to please her homophobic mother and her obligation to her vows, Jess can’t possibly tear herself away from Casey. Or must she?
This first feature by up-and-coming director Heather Tobin feels like it’s ripped from the streets of Fresno. The audience becomes a fly-on-the-wall observer to the cutting action, quick reactions, sexual situations, and final decisions. Undeniable chemistry between the lovers mixes with the natural and expected feelings, fights, and frustrations we can all feel as we come to terms with our sexuality.
