Tower Theatre :: 6:15pm :: Thursday, September 18
This outrageous new comedy from Spain has Victor acting a bit too eager to gentrify Madrid’s Chueca district by, well, ‘eliminating’ those tenants that he doesn’t feel fit in with his vision of a perfectly gay and trendy neighborhood. Hoping to turn this hotspot into the yuppie paradise of his dreams, Victor stops at nothing to turn over an apartment, removing old ladies and unfabulous bear couples alike.
When longtime lovers and comic book fanboys Leo and Rey inherit their neighbor’s flat, they find themselves learning just how cutthroat the real estate market can get. Add Almodovar regular Rosa Maria Sarda as a brilliant but thoroughly neurotic police detective (whose son and fellow detective develops a definite affinity for the gay neighborhood), and you have a wildly funny farce…with a body count.
