Kissed as they are by the sun and the desert sands, the men are absolutely gorgeous in this film. Directors call perfect lighting 'golden,' and McGuinn seems to have shot his entire production in the most perfect of possible sun conditions.
Everything is less-than-perfect, however, for two lovers stranded in a remote outpost, and viewers of the second of our Starline Series of films will soon be caught up in the intrigue and wonderment of the situation. Both murder mystery and character drama, Sun Kissed moves far from McGuinn's short Soda Pop (Reel Pride 2004) and deep within the psyche, as we follow Teddy, a budding novelist, and Leo, the mysterious caretaker of the house where sexual tension percolates along with the intrigue.
This is a textured, taut film that will keep you intrigued long after leaving the Starline.
