Tomboys: Feisty Girls and Spirited Women
Directed by Julie Akeret and Christian McEwen
2004, USA, Video, 28 minutes
'Grow out of it?' No way! These tomboys run the gamut, from supercool teenager to a beautiful boxer, a firefighter, and 'Granny D,' an elderly political activist who wore her jeans and baseball cap across the entire United States to raise political awareness about campaign finance reform. While in her 80's! A rambunctious documentary sure to hit home with the tomboy in us all.

In My Father's Church
Directed by Charissa King
2004, USA, Video, 49 minutes
Begun as a documentary about two women wanting to get married in their father's strict church, In My Father's Church provides a heartbreaking and revealing look into the heart of Charissa and her partner Kelly, as they struggle with family, friends, and their church. While most documentary filmmakers prefer to hide behind their camera, Charissa King bravely turns the camera upon herself to reveal universal truths felt by all at some point in our lives. Sharing her feelings with her minister father and retired minister uncle brings Charissa both joy and conflict, as do the strained visits with Kelly's family, the rejected and accepted wedding RSVPs, and Charissa's strong bond with the only woman she's ever loved.
Scheduled to Appear: Charissa and Kelly
